| Job Description |
Successful Oracle DBA will provide Development and/or Production support. This includes creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans. Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage requirements. Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend,and plan implementation of new or improved RDBMS, ETL and database tools.
· Primarily responsible for supporting Oracle's OnDemand databases.
· Configures, troubleshoots and supports all aspects of the data tier running on Oracle 10g
· Provide on-call, weekend and after-hours support for OnDemand environments and hosting partners
· Deploy new OnDemand data tier installations, upgrade existing environments as required to meet product release schedules
· Develop and document operational processes to maintain and operate 24x7x365 hosted environments
· Builds, configures, supports and ensures 24x7 availability of all production and test environments. |

| Qualifications |
5 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM's or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. BS or equivalent desired.
Oracle 10g experience and certification a plus.
Siebel application experience a plus.
At least 2 years experience installing, configuring, and supporting Oracle db products.
Experience providing 24x7 support to production enterprise infrastructure, including understanding of on-call
responsibilities and procedures, and use of automated monitoring tools
BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline
Excellent technical judgment and ability to help troubleshoot an issue
Ability to prioritize work based upon continuous new input and changing business needs. Must be proactive and preventive in problem solving
Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify problems and independently develop and implement solutions.
Good troubleshooting skills
Ability to deliver high quality results with attention to details.
